We would like to introduce the manufacturing process of castings at Daimaru Industrial Co., Ltd. We carry out the entire process from order and estimation, molding, pouring, breaking, cutting and deburring, shot blasting, to finishing and inspection, all the way to delivery. In the "pouring" process, where molten metal is injected into the mold, a technique is required to pour it quietly and quickly to avoid trapping air. "Deburring" is an important task related to finishing within the process. [Technical Information] Viscosity of Molten Metal

This is an introduction to the viscosity of molten metal, including the dynamic viscosity of various liquids.

Casting involves pouring liquid metal into a mold, and if the viscosity resistance increases, it will take longer to fill the mold, with the possibility of solidifying along the way. The viscosity of a liquid is represented by a numerical value known as the viscosity coefficient (symbol η) in physics. In the case of liquid flow, the viscosity resistance is influenced not only by the viscosity coefficient but also by the density (symbol ρ). The value obtained by dividing η by ρ (known as kinematic viscosity or kinematic coefficient, symbol ν) is given by ν = η / ρ, and it is a key factor governing viscosity resistance. Since the value of η for molten metal is originally small and combined with a high ρ, the value of ν becomes extremely small. Our company maintains a production capacity of 200 tons of melting weight and 100 tons of product weight per month. We can accommodate relatively large products with a mold frame size of 600(W)×400(L)×130(H)/130, and we can produce items ranging from large ones with a flange diameter of φ220, a total length of 320mm, and a product weight of 25kg, to smaller items. We respond to various customer needs, including requests for small lot orders and the production of original prototypes.
